Culture, traditions and Spirit

Academics and our attitude towards it, that's what we "talked" about today. How flawed it was.

Ultimately, what is your philosophy? What is your way of life? What culture do you live with and what traditions do you abide by? What is your Spirit?

Forsaking our class culture for academics is a no-no. But finally, 33 got to eat out - had lunch, watched a movie (do not watch SALT), and had dinner. The eating out culture's revived for that moment, and I'm a happy man for now :D

Play hard, work hard. Nil sine labore. You'll get there.

Fundamental questions to ask: How relevant is the alumni? The club is no longer mine. It is for the juniors to run. To what extent should we interfere?

And I ask this, because the only IT Club thing (other than the current Sec 4s) that remains in VS is the IT Club flag - the symbol of our origin, our tradition, our culture, our spirit. Since ITC has converted to Infocomm Club, should the flag remain or change? In 2011, the last batch of IT Clubbers would have graduated from VS. What will the club look like then?

Should the alumni interfere to defend our roots? To defend the system that brought us up and to defend the belief that it will achieve the same effect on them?

It will be up to the juniors to decide for themselves whether to abolish old traditions and establish new traditions. It will be up to them to define what is their Spirit.

And what can we do? Stand and watch. Let it go by, and let it stay in your memories.
